Our Beginning
In 1995, the Ebenezer Methodist Church, Madina, conceived the idea of establishing a school on the church premises to provide an additional social service in the form of quality basic education for children in the community.
Planning the School
A committee headed by the then Minister-in-charge, Rev. Dr. Seth Aryee, was established to develop the modalities for the proposed school.
Initially, it was decided that the school would begin in Wilson Memorial Hall, the old chapel. This proposal was subsequently abandoned because the hall was not spacious enough and would likely have required structural modifications.
The decision was therefore taken to construct a permanent building for the school.
Support for the Vision
Very Rev. Samuel Kofi Osabutey, who succeeded Rev. Dr. Seth Aryee, lent strong support to the vision of establishing a permanent school building and worked tirelessly towards its implementation.
International Partnership
In July 1997, Rev. Osabutey had the opportunity to study at the Haggai Institute in Hawaii. During his time there, he discussed the school project with Rev. Dr. John Stroman, a long-standing friend in the United States and Head Pastor of Pasadena Community Church.
Rev. Dr. Stroman readily accepted the opportunity to assist. His church subsequently provided the initial funding of US$12,000 to support the project.
